Ever since I first entered a Gothic cathedral, I was overwhelmed by the soaring sense of space. That believers could have the audacity to climb to the heavens with stone so majestically was completely astonishing, especially considering the tools they had at hand in the 12th to the 16th centuries. I wanted to capture the sense of space on canvas. I discovered it’s not an easy task.
